Amelia Gamel facilitates thought-provoking presentations that empower educators to understand & effectively engage with underserved student populations.
Amelia is an assistant professor at Jackson College, presenter, teacher trainer and published author. She is also the founder of two college success initiatives that have gained national recognition, Men of Merit and Sisters of Strength, both, which promote the success and advancement of African American college students.
As an expert and professional presenter on working with underserved student populations, Amelia routinely provides workshop sessions to teach faculty and administrators how to effectively encourage cooperation and promote success among marginalized students from inner-city areas.
Her successful leadership on campus and in the classroom is a result of her no-nonsense but compassionate methods, her inter-personal abilities, insights into the human experience, sincere respect for all people, and a genuine passion and value for cultural, racial, and social equity and diversity.
